Network Drives

Curtin staff who have activated their OASIS account and log in to a computer, can usually access various network drives. By default, Windows computers usually have these mapped, whereas other computers may need the drives to be manually mapped.

Drive letters include:

  • I: (Individual), this drive is normally only seen by you,
  • J: (Joint/Shared), this drive is usually used by an area, or multiple areas,
  • L:, this drive is like the J:, but can contain other areas on campus - you should also be able to drill down and find the J: drive (geography [eg PER = Perth], faculty, shared)
  • R: (Research), this drive is for storing research data - see Research Drive.
  • T : (Transfer), this drive is for non-confidential transferring of files. Files can be deleted by anyone. Students can also see all of this area, besides the folders under "Staff Only". For sharing (one to one) also see Jabber: File Sharing.
  • U: (Application), this drive is for Curtin applications.

Mac Users: For Mac users who wish to connect to their I: and J: drives, an application has been created to facilitate this request (you will need to be connected though Curtin's VPN):

If you need further information, please do not hesitate to contact the CITS Service Desk.
